A stunning golf course in the heart of Cheshire has received a £250,000 boost to improve its condition.

The Macdonald Portal Hotel in Tarporley has invested a considerable amount of money to keep its courses in pristine condition ahead of the next golf season.

New machines and equipment have been purchased which will enable the course management team to improve the practice facilities and condition of the hotel’s three courses.

This is part of the first phase of ongoing investment in the resort, with phase two due to take place later this year.

This will include the renovation of bunkers, drainage plans, new investments in machinery, road renovations and other ambitious projects.

In addition to these planned works, the Portal Hotel is also investing in the golf management team.

Aspiring golf enthusiasts are encouraged to apply for several available roles such as First Assistant Greenkeeper, Seasonal Greenkeepers, Outside Golf Services Team Members and Golf Reception Team Members.

£250,000 has been invested in golf courses

Ross Astley, Director of Golf and Support for MHL Resorts, said, “This investment and the planned growth of our team marks a significant commitment to maintaining the resort in world-class condition.

“Now that we have emerged from the pandemic and golf is back in full swing, we look forward to improving the facilities and condition of the courses to the highest standard possible so that our members and visitors can enjoy the beautiful game on superb grounds maintained courses.
