The spring sports season finally begins today for three of PCM’s spring sports teams as the boys’ golf team will begin the season in Lynnville-Sully while the track and field teams open their season at home.

The Mustangs golf team will operate under a new voice this year as Collin Harrison takes over from Mike Cardin. PCM will also have a new look for its team as its top four golfers from last season graduate. The golfer with the lowest nine-hole average returning from last season is second-placed Nick Farver. The Mustangs will compete against the host and Albia. PCM finished second in the triangle last season. The game at Diamond Trail Golf Club in Lynnville begins at 4:00 p.m.

The Mustangs track teams will begin their outdoor season after their first meets were canceled. The PCM boys were to have meetings at Pella Christian and Roland-Story which have been cancelled. The Mustangs girls were scheduled to be at Chariton last Tuesday. All of their competitions have been canceled due to bad weather. Teams will compete with Knoxville, Twin Cedars, Baxter, Chariton, North Polk, Montezuma and Bondurant-Farrar. The meeting at PCM High School begins at 4:30 p.m.
