ROSARIO, Argentina – In a three-way tie for the lead after the first round, Martín Contini kept the pedal down to keep the overall lead and win the 86th Abierto del Litoral Paladini, presented by Grupo San Cristobal. Organized by the Argentinian Golf Association and host Rosario Golf Club, the tournament has been co-sanctioned by the Argentina Tour and the Dev Series of the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.

The 26-year-old, who achieved Korn Ferry Tour 2022 status last month at Q-School, made it his first win as a professional. Contini followed his first 65 with rounds 64-72-68 to finish 15 under 269, two strokes ahead of two-time PGA TOUR winner Fabián Gómez and Andrés Gallegos.

Led by five, fourth place was shared by Leandro Marelli, Alejandro Tosti and Santiago Bauni. Two strokes later, Rafael Echenique was joined by Daniel Altamirano tied for seventh place at 8 under.

“I am ending an unforgettable year,” said Contini, from Tucuman, Argentina. “With the pandemic, I had low expectations, but in the middle of the year my game was feeling good and I got the opportunity to play the Korn Ferry Tour Q-School and won my card. “Now I can end the year with my first win at such a special event. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for more.
