EKU Finishes Fourth in ASUN Championship
Two Colonels placed in the top 10 and EKU finished ahead of three Florida schools by a wide margin.
VALDOSTA, Ga. –The Eastern Kentucky women’s golf team finished fourth at the ASUN Conference Championship in Valdosta, Ga., on Tuesday.
The Colonels started the day in third place, 9 strokes ahead of fourth place Lipscomb and 12 behind first place North Florida. EKU finished with a round of 315 and a total of 904 over 54 holes. Lipscomb entered the clubhouse with a final round of 302, passing EKU with a total of 900.
The three-day, 54-hole championship was played on the 6,213-yard, par-72 course at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
North Florida (868) won the tag team title by four strokes over Kennesaw State (872).
Jacksonville State (909) was fifth and Central Arkansas (911) sixth. Eastern Kentucky finished ahead of three Florida schools by a wide margin. Jacksonville and Florida Gulf Coast tied for seventh at 923. Stetson finished ninth at 946. North Alabama (962) and Bellarmine (1003) rounded out the 11-team field.
Ragnhildur Kristinsdottir led EKU and finished seventh overall with a total of 219 holes out of 54 (+3).
Rylea Marcum (222) also had a top-10 performance, tied for eighth overall at 6 above.
Maddie Hensley (230) tied for 28th. Elisa Orduna Shackleton (233) tied for 32nd. Vilma Efraimsson (236) was 36th.
