WASHINGTON- GW Golf Head Coach Chuck Scheinost announced the addition of Florian Blatte as an assistant coach for the 2022-23 season.
“I am very happy to have Florian join our coaching team,” said Scheinost. “Having played here, he knows our program and what we are trying to build. Additionally, he has a vast knowledge of the game and has played golf at a high level,” Scheinost said.
“He will be a big asset to our young team with four first years arriving at Foggy Bottom ready to leave their mark on our program.”
During his graduate season with GW, Blatti helped GW to a tie for fourth in the Atlantic 10 Championship with a 222 six-over-par to rank 36th overall. Blatti put up a record five-over-par 221 (75-72-74) at the Wofford Invitational on April 12.
Prior to his move to GW, the Swiss native spent four seasons with George Mason’s golf program. Blatti’s time with the Patriots can be highlighted by a career-best finish at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate in 2021, where he finished third among 82 golfers with a two-under 214 (74-72-68).
Blatti will work alongside Scheinost, who is entering his ninth season at the helm.
