CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb’s Dominica Burdova and Linnea Hofgren earned All-Big South Conference women’s golf honors on Monday, with Kayla Dowell earn a spot on the All-Freshman team.

Burdova (Liberec, Czech Republic) also earned a spot on the league’s All-Academic team. She carries a cumulative GPA of 3.73 in her journalism major and led Gardner-Webb during the regular season with an average of 75.65. Burdova also ranked among the best in the Big South with four top-10 finishes during the season and improved her scoring average by more than two strokes from last season.

She was named to the All-Big South Second Team as a result of her efforts. Burdova finished 14th individually in the recent Big South Conference Women’s Golf Championship at Ninety Six, SC

Hofgren (Molnlycke, Sweden) earned honorable mention All-Big South Conference honors and ranked second this season on the Gardner-Webb list with a 76.12 regular-season average.

She was named Big South Conference Female Golfer of the Week on Sept. 23 after finishing second with low rounds of 70 and 71 at the 2021 Elon Invitational. Hofgren finished tied for eighth in the Big South Championship.

Dowell (Mebane, NC) finished tied for 24th in the Big South Championship and had a strong rookie season for the Runnin’ Bulldogs. She averaged 74.64 shots per round during the fall season and was named Big South Freshman of the Week after finishing seventh at the 2021 Elon Fall Invitational.
