LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Golf Team picked up their sixth win of the season on Friday, edging the AuSable Valley Patriots 3.5-2.5 at Harmony Golf Course in Port Kent.

Playing No. 1 for the Blue Bombers, Brady Tremblay was able to earn medalist honors for the seventh time this season shooting a 41. Tremblay, a junior, defeated Porter Goodman of AuSable Valley 41-45.

Seb Cecunjanin and Tanner Foley had key wins for Lake Placid in Game 5 and Game 6, respectively. Cecunjanin beat Oliver Dorr 49-61 and Foley edged Keegan Snow 66-75.

In Game 4, Alex Wright of the Blue Bombers shot a 47 to tie Ethan Crowninshield of the Patriots to earn half a point apiece.

Grant Weerts got the lowest score from AuSable. Weerts shot a 44 to beat Lake Placid’s Carver Bell (45) in third. Grady Draper of the Blue Bombers lost his match in the No. 2 position to Jack Thomas, who shot a 46. Draper carded a 49.

Lake Placid, now 6-1 on the season, will face the Moriah Vikings at home on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

THE CROSSE

Salmon River 23, Saranac Placid Lake 3

SARANAC LAKE – The Saranac Lake Placid lacrosse team lost 23-3 to the Salmon River Shamrocks on the road Saturday.

The Shamrocks, now 11-0 this season, proved to be a tough game and SLP struggled to stop Salmon River’s offensive attack.

Alex LaDue led SLP with two goals, while Phoebe Peer contributed to the scoresheet with one goal. Sydney Lawrence registered an assist on Saturday.

The girls were scheduled to face Massena Central on the road on Monday in their first of four matches this week. SLP will host Canton on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
