CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference on Thursday announced its annual women’s golf awards for Coach of the Year, Golfer of the Year, Freshman of the Year, as well as Team All- MAC First and Second. Liz Kim represented the Ball State women’s golf team with an All-MAC Second Team selection.

Kim became the ninth Cardinal to earn a spot on an All-MAC team. She earned her first all-conference honor as a second-team member. Kim led Ball State on and off the course. On the course, she has produced three top-5 finishes this season. She tied for fourth at the Ball State Cardinal Classic and the Courtney Cole Invitational, and tied for fifth at the Rocket Classic. She is also the reigning MAC Sportswoman of the Year twice after receiving the accolade at the MAC Championship. She is seen by her peers as a leader and always displays a positive attitude. She is always friendly with her competitors as well as with the spectators. Her work ethic on and off the course is the epitome of what a student-athlete is. In class, she has a GPA of 3.98 and is pursuing studies in Psychological Sciences.

From Coach – Head Coach Catherine Mowat

“Being named to an all-conference team is a tough feat in CMA women’s golf. For Liz, at the height of her fifth year with us, it’s so fitting. She never stopped working and always striving to improve. This award puts Liz in the same category as some of the best golfers to play for us, including her teammate Hadley Moritz, Jenna Hague and the late Brittany Kelly, Hall of Famer. It’s phenomenal that Liz has been recognized by her peers with back-to-back MAC Sportswoman of the Year awards. The reason her peers respect her so much is that she always gives her best as a person and as an athlete and competes fiercely with integrity. I am delighted for Liz and again very proud.”
