Wabash had his fifth best run of the season in the second round Saturday of the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio. The Little Giants, unfortunately, slipped a spot to fifth in team scoring heading into the final day of the tournament on Sunday.
Wabash carded a round 310 as a team to finish with a two-day score of 624. Allegheny shot a round 291 on Saturday to complete the team par three for the day to pass Wabash and Denison for third in team scoring with a two-round score of 613. Denison repeated his day one score of 307 to stay ahead of fourth-placed Wabash with a score of 614. Kenyon shot a 286-under par on Saturday to take a commanding 13-shot lead over second-placed Wittenberg. Kenyon finished the second round with a total score of 592 (306-286) with Wittenberg in second with a score of 605 (302-303). DePauw is in sixth place with a total of 647 shots (323-324).
Brayden Weiss shot a par 73 on Saturday to stay in the top five in the individual score. He is tied for fourth place with a score of 147 in two rounds. Kenyon’s Nick Lust leads the individual field with a two-round score of 139 (five under par) after shooting an eight-under par 64 on Saturday.
Lewis Dellinger carded a 79 on Saturday and enters Sunday’s final round with a score of 157 tied for 15and place in the set. Hyatt Hines 23 years oldrd out of 45 golfers entering the tournament after shooting a 77 on Saturday for a score of 159 in two rounds.
Mark Poole got off to a strong start on Saturday before finishing with a round 83 for a two-day score of 163 tied for 30and en route to Sunday. Miles Patterson is in 34and place with a score of 167 in two rounds after carding an 81 on Saturday.
Sunday’s final round begins at 9 a.m. with Wabash scheduled to start with Patterson at 9:45 a.m.
