NORFOLK, Virginia – Head Coach of the Old Dominion Men’s Golf Team Murray Rudisil today announced the addition of UNCW transfer and Virginia Beach product Cullen Campbell.

“We are pleased to be able to sign another golfer from Tidewater for next year,” Rudisill said. “Cullen had an outstanding career at Norfolk Academy and played very well in VSGA events and finished 11th in the Eastern Amateur last summer. We expect him to have an immediate impact on our team at from next fall.

Campbell spent his freshman year at UNCW but did not compete. He joined the Seahawks as an accomplished junior player from Norfolk Academy. In high school, Campbell qualified three times for the Virginia State Amateur and reached the quarterfinals of the 2019 Virginia State Golf Association Junior Match Play Tournament.

Campbell also appeared in the Junior Mid-Atlantic Invitational in 2019 and 2020 and represented the Commonwealth in the Carolinas’ 38th and 39th tag team games against Virginia Boys. In the 2020 edition of the competition, he helped Virginia to a 9-7 win with a 5-3 win in their singles match. Campbell recorded a fifth-place finish in the VSGA Stroke Play Championship and reached the final of the VSGA Match Play Championship. Last summer he finished 11th at the Eastern Amateur.
