Miami Shores, Fla. — The Le Moyne College men’s golf team placed 15th at Barry University’s Battle at the Shores on Monday and Tuesday at the 6,733-yard Normandy Shores Golf Club.

The host Buccaneers, the top-ranked team in Division II, won the Tag Team Championship by 14 strokes with a seven-under 845 over the three rounds after posting scores of two of 286, four under 280 and five under. 279. Nova Southeastern, which is ranked 12th, was second with 859 laps of 290, three under 281 and 288. Lynn University, which is 25th, was third with a total of 871 after laps of 294, three under 281 and 296. The Dolphins delivered a 303 in the first round, a 314 in the second round and a 317 on Tuesday for a 934.

Junior Nicolas Bové (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) led the Dolphins with a total of 230 rounds of 75, 78 and 77 to move into a four-way tie for 63rd. Second year Tyler Bird (Elma, NY/Iroquois) tied for 67th after rounds of 75, 78 and 78 for a two-day total of 231. Johnny Grüninger (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) scored a tied 233 for 74th rounds of 79, 78 and 76. Junior Luke Barney (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) shot in rounds of 76, 80 and 86 to tie for 84th with a 242. Sophomore Spencer Baum (Syracuse, NY/Liverpool) rounded out the team’s five competitors with a 245 after scores of 77, 82 and 86 tied for 87th.
