Hamilton College sits in first place with an eight-stroke lead in the team standings following the first round of the 2022 NESCAC Men’s Golf Championship at Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, NY on Saturday.

The Continentals posted a four-man team score of 300 as four of their five golfers beat 80. Pin placement was a challenge as the greens got drier and firmer in the afternoon. Tufts University is second with 308 while Middlebury College and Amherst College are tied for third place, one stroke behind Tufts.

The second and final round will take place on Sunday, May 1. Billy Geach ’23 shot the low round of the day and led the Continentals with an even 71. Jack McKeon ’22 was in third place and tied a season high with a 74 for his fourth consecutive round in the 70s.

Jacob Zeng ’24 carded a 77 and is tied for eighth out of 50 golfers. Seven of Zeng’s eight rounds this season are below 80. Will Whittaker ’25 is tied for 14and place with a 78.
