EUGENE, Oregon – The men’s golf program signed Hugh Adams and Matthew Broder as head coaches from National Letters of Intent, Oregon Casey Martin announced Thursday.

Adams is one of England’s top junior golfers and will come to Eugene with extensive national and international experience, while Broder has won several tournaments in junior competitions in Southern California.

A medalist at several junior tournaments in England, Adams comes from one of the best preparatory schools in the country, Haybridge & The Golf College. He is a two-time National Junior Open champion. Adams won the Reid Trophy at the English Under-14 Championship in 2018 and was runner-up in 2019. He also won the 2019 Douglas Johns Trophy and the 2019 Scottish Under-14 Championship, where he shot a 10- under 62 years old. Adams finished third in the 2020 England Under-16 Championship. In 2021, he finished eighth in the England Under-18 Championship and third in the England Under-16 Championship. Additionally, Adams was a member of the England Under-16 international team (2019-2021) and has been part of the England Under-18 team since 2021. He has captained the England Under-18 team 16 years for the victory against Wales in 2021.

Matthew Broder

Matthew Broder, San Diego, CA, Torrey Pines High School

Low Round: 65 (7-under), Southern California PGA, Journey at Pechanga Golf Course
Broder was one of Southern California’s top junior artists. He helped lead Torrey Pines High School to the 2022 CIF Sectional Championship and finished second in the 2022 CIF Regional Tournament and California State Championship. He finished third in the City Cup for Torrey Pines. Broder has amassed junior victories in a number of tournaments including the Phil Mickelson Invitational, the Washington FIG Championship, the Stars of TP World Golf Championship and the PGA Junior League National Championship. Broder also finished second at the 2021 IMG World Championship. An excellent student, Broder has a 3.94 GPA in high school and was a finalist in the college spelling bee.
