MILFORD, Conn. – A second straight round of 327 helped the Lehigh women’s golf team finish eighth at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic, which ended Monday at Great River Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks battled inclement weather to finish with a final total of 654.

Second year madison pineda was the worst performer of the Mountain Hawks as they won 16th place at 156 (76-80). Pineda’s final trick included a pair of birdies.

Junior Meghna Grover and first year Yuki Zhu both shot 82 in the final round on Monday. Grover finished tied for 30th at 163 (81-82), while Zhu finished tied for 39th at 166 (84-82).

Second year Sophie Chang had the biggest improvement from round one to round two, as she followed a first-round 89 with an 83 on Monday tied for 51st at 172.

Senior Hannah Foster tied for 60th at 178 (86-92).

In individual competition, senior Marina Mendez posted rounds of 96 and 89 to finish 65th at 185.

Sacred Heart won the tag team title in its own invitational tournament at 594 (296-298). The Pioneers beat Boston University by 13 strokes.

The host Pioneers also had individual medalist Chantal El Chaib, who finished at one over par 145, two shots ahead of Boston University’s Alice Fan.

The Mountain Hawks will then wrap up their fall season with the Lehigh Invitational, Oct. 24-25, on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
