The Southeast Florida Chapter of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) has named Paul Clivio, Director of Golf at St. Andrews Country Club, the recipient of the 2022 Bill Strausbaugh Award. Clivio is a two-time recipient of the Bill Strausbaugh Award, the first being in 2019 by the PGA South Florida Chapter and was honored with the 2020 Golf Professional of the Year Award by the PGA Southeast Florida Chapter.

The Bill Strausbaugh Award recognizes PGA Professionals who, through their daily efforts, have distinguished themselves by mentoring fellow PGA Professionals in improving their employment status and through service to the community.

Paul Clivio began his leadership with the PGA nine years ago after being elected secretary. He served two years as secretary and two years as vice-president before being elected president for the year 2018-2019. Clivio served as the primary voice and voting representative for the SE Florida Chapter on the Board of Directors and helped plan annual meetings. Using his knowledge and expertise, Clivio planned educational meetings and discussions for his chapter.

Clivio has been recognized for his original thinking and his continuous effort and commitment to developing a successful golf program over the past 26 years. In 2017 he was named Callaway Golf Professional of the year, Master Staff Professional for Callaway Golf, twice winner of CMAA Idea Fair in Golf Operations 2015 & 2017 and 2017, 2018 & 2019 Platinum Award for Top 100 Golf Stores in America. , and for 11 consecutive years, Clivio has received BoardRoom Magazine’s Distinguished Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to the member experience.

The PGA South Florida Section has approximately 1,875 members and associates who are employed at more than 475 facilities in the South Florida region, currently ranking the South Florida Section as the second largest PGA Professional Section among the 41 PGA Sections in the United States. The PGA South East Florida chapter is the largest in the section with over 842 members.
