About the course: Paducah Country Club features a beautiful 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and offers excellent play for novices and professionals alike. In the late 1970s when the Country Club of Paducah embarked on the concept of a new golf course, they went to the top for a course designer. The choice fell on Robert Trent Jones, Sr., who made golf course architecture an art form. Jones has built or renovated some of the most famous courses in the United States and around the world. He is credited with 400 courses in 45 states and 35 countries, more than 36 of which have hosted both a national or international championship. According to Jones’ profile on the World Golf Hall of Fame, his philosophy was to “make every hole a tough par but an easy bogey.” Characteristics of Jones’ designs include greens reflecting a subtle contour, numerous pin positions, large tees that allow golfers many layout choices, and a “fanatical devotion to preserving the natural beauty of the course”. The natural beauty of Paducah is certainly evident at the Paducah Country Club course. Zoysia tees and wide Zoysia fairways provide a narrow playing surface to approach bentgrass greens which are framed by 39 white sand bunkers and 6 lakes. From the longest tees, it features 6,915 yards of golf at a par of 72. The course rating is 73.9 with a grade rating of 136. The course without equity is open to members and guests accompanied by members. and the Illinois State Redbirds app: Your online source for Illinois State athletics tickets, Weisbecker Scholarship Fund gifts, multimedia, Redbird products, photos and more.
