BUCYRUS — Pleasant’s Minoy Shah mastered his 73 over par to win the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association’s second-season tournament held at the Golf Club of Bucyrus on Monday. The event sponsor was Bucyrus’ Crossroads Original Designs.

Shah notched an eagle, three birdies and ten pars at 35-38-73 to top the split 16-18 and claim his first crown of the season. Nicholas McMullen of Galion and Nathan Newell of Pleasant tied for second at 76. Fairbanks Chase Brackenridge was fourth, followed by Alex Crowe of Fairbanks and Logan Keller of Galion who tied for fifth at 79.

Pleasant’s Maura Murphy scored a royal 35-40-75, collecting three birdies and nine pars to top the girls’ group 13-18. Dina Shah of Pleasant scored 87 for second, with Lucy Myers and Sophie Beck, both of Colonel Crawford, shooting 89 and 95 with respect. Anna Songer of Pleasant and Madelyn Taylor of North Union followed at 102.

Olentangy’s Kaden Ottley left the group 13-15, carding 38-41-79, with three birdies and eight pars.

Second was Carson Walker of Galion at 85. Henry Terry of Olentangy followed at 87, Jack Seckel of Pleasant at 90 and Dawson Hall of Pleasant at 92 to complete the top leaders in the middle.

Twelve and under, Colonel Crawford’s Bryant Berry scored 42 on the back nine red tees to reign first, while Delaware’s Griffin Gates and Pleasant’s Nolen West tied for second at 52. Buckeye Valley’s Grayson Keller took scored 53 and Drew Thomas of Olentangy, 56 leading the youngest class.

The next HOJGA tournament will take place at Marysville Golf Club on June 22.
