Aileen Greenfield, handicap plus one, received a lifetime achievement award at the Sussex County Ladies Golf Association AGM.

For Sussex golfer Aileen, it’s recognition for her outstanding achievements in golf. A lifelong amateur, the 57-plus handicapper represented the Sussex County team for 35 years. She was Sussex champion three times and won the club championships at Pyecombe 38 times.

Since turning 50, she has won the English Senior Amateur Championships, the English Senior Strokeplay Championships and the British Senior Amateur Championships.

Aileen, who lives in Hassocks and is a member of Pyecombe and Piltdown clubs, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Sussex County Ladies Golf Association at their AGM at the Charmandean Center in Worthing.

A tribute to Aileen highlighted her dedication and loyalty to the county of Sussex and the inspiration she created for many golfers in the Sussex golf community for over four decades. The speaker concluded that her positive attitude, hard work, self-confidence, focus, resilience and determination contributed to her outstanding success.

Attendees showed their appreciation by giving Aileen a standing ovation and wished her continued success in the years to come. See more at
