With golf courses dotted throughout Horry County and neighboring Brunswick County, North Carolina, the options are plentiful for golfers in the Myrtle Beach area.

But not all courses are created equal, according to our readers.

The Sun News published a poll for our readers to vote for the best golf course in the Myrtle Beach area, dividing the dozens of courses into north, central and south regions.

With nearly 300 votes cast, we tallied the results.

In the North region, the Tidewater Golf Club got 24% of the vote, more than any other course listed in that region.

The winner for the central region is Dunes Beach and Golf Club with 47 votes, or 29% of the votes for this region.

At the southern end, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club garnered 37% of the vote in that region.

The ballot was open for several days and was designed so that people could vote as many times as they wanted.
