Harding’s women’s golf team shot a 26-for-314 in the third round of the GAC Women’s Golf Championships to finish the tournament with a 75-for-939 and in third place. Henderson State won the tournament with a 17-over 881.
Brenda Sanchez posted his third top 5 of the season after shooting a 1 of 73 and finished the tournament at 9 of 225 and in fifth place. Sanchez was one of two players to record an eagle in the tournament when she hit her opening hole on Tuesday and hit 14 pars in her final round. Sanchez also set a 54-hole tournament personal best with his 225.
Alicia Martinez shot a 6 of 78 on Tuesday and finished the tournament at 16 of 232 and tenth. It was Martinez’s third top 10 this season. Julie Fierro also set a new personal low for a 54-hole tournament score at 26 of 242. Fierro shot a 9 of 81 on Tuesday and finished the tournament tied for 21st.
Bryan Abbey finished tied for 23rd after a 13 of 85 in round 3, the place at 27 of 243 for the tournament. JoJo Perry finished tied for 29and with 31 out of 247.
Henderson State’s Gracen Blount won the individual title with a 1-under 215.
The Lady Bisons will now wait to see if they qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Bisons were ranked tenth in the latest regional rankings. The top 9 Central Region teams will move on to Central/Midwest Regional in Hot Springs, Arkansas, May 2-4.
