Beaulieu finishes top-10 with 169 over two days for Skyhawks

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (April 19, 2022) – The Stonehill College women’s golf team returned to the ties for the first time in over a month and posted a third-place team finish at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by the American International College, on the layout par-72 at Ledges Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.

Stonehill, which saw four rounds in the low 80 on Monday, was second to Franklin Pierce University by just four strokes after the first round with a team score of 329 behind the Ravens 325. Franklin Pierce followed his score from the first round with a 326 on Tuesday. to win the tag team title by 28 strokes with a final score of 651 (325-326), with Adelphi University finishing second (334-345=679) and Stonehill third (329-354=683), while University Assumption took fourth place (361 -367=728). Erika Fuentes of Saint Rose College won the individual medal with a score of 157 (75-82) over two days for a three-time victory.

Senior Emma Beaulieu finished the two-day tournament tied for ninth out of 40 competitors with a total of 169 for Stonehill, following a first-round 83 with an 86 on Tuesday. Classmate Sloane VanZanen posted the Skyhawks’ lowest score of the tournament with an 81 for a tie for fifth on Monday, finishing with a two-day score of 170 after a second-round 89 to finish tied for 11and globally.

  • junior Julia Dapron and Emily Kase tied for 15and on the field with scores of 172 over two days. Dapron’s 82 on Monday was Stonehill’s second-lowest round of the day and followed by a 90 on Tuesday, while Kase recorded an 83 and 89 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
  • First-year student Mollie Thomas closed Stonehill’s top five with a score of 187 (93-94) to finish 26and globally.
  • Second year students Hannah Pignato and Emma Casey each competed as individuals for the Skyhawks at the event. Pignato placed 29and with a score of 188 (89-99), while Casey finished 34and at 196 (99-97).


Stonehill will return to action next week at the end of the spring season by hosting its Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday April 24-25 at the Ranch Golf Club in Southwick, Massachusetts.
