MINNEAPOLIS- Four tournaments highlight the University of Minnesota women’s golf team fall 2022 schedule, beginning with the Annika Intercollegiate at the end of the second week of September. The spring season kicks off with the Columbia Classic February 11-13, the first of six spring events.

“As we enter our second full season at the helm of the program, I couldn’t be more excited to announce our schedule,” the head coach said. Rhyll Brinsmead said. “As we put together this schedule, it was imperative that we had a mix of elite competitions and events that would test our ability to win.”

The Golden Gophers will begin their 2022-23 campaign at home with the Annika Intercollegiate from September 12-14. The University of Minnesota will host the event for the second consecutive year at the Royal Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.

“We start our season here in Minnesota at the Annika Intercollegiate hosted by 3M. It allows us from day one to gauge our results against the best teams in the country. There’s no better way to start the fall. !” said Brinsmead.

After hosting the first event of the year, the Maroon and Gold will travel to Greenville, South Carolina for the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman University September 23-25.

To wrap up their first month of competition, Minnesota will travel to Virginia Beach, Va. for the Princess Anne Invitational from September 30-October 2.

For the fourth and final tournament of the fall season, the Gophers will travel to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the Sunflower Invitational on October 17-18.

To kick off the spring season, the Gophers will head south for the Columbia Classic in Melbourne, Florida from February 11-13.

“Spring will feature intense competition leading up to the Big Ten Championship in April. With the addition of new events and the return to events we know well, I’m confident we have the right mix to deliver head-to-head victories. -quality header. to get us started in the playoffs. Ski-U-Mah!!” said Brinsmead.

The final event in February will be the Westbrook Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona on February 26-27, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This will be the second consecutive season that the women’s golf team will participate in the event.

Like the Westbrook Invitational, Minnesota will participate in the Valspar Invitational in Augusta, Georgia for the second year in a row. In 2023, the event will take place on March 11 and 12.

To kick off the month of April, the women’s golf team will compete in the Chattanooga Classic in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In the final event before the Big Ten Championship, Maroon and Gold travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 15-16.

As in 2021-22, the Gophers will head east for the Big Ten Championship in Pittsburgh, Pa., April 21-23.

The Gophers will bring back four golfers from last year’s team, in addition to welcoming newcomers Isabelle McCauley, Luisamariana Mesones and Junrui Chi.
